A Chat with Jaymie Pizarro
A Chat with Jaymie Pizarro

It was such a thrill to be at the first ever Otterbox Drop Test Tour in the country, especially since I was given the rare chance of meeting some of the Otterbox brand ambassadors at the event and talk to them one-on-one. And what a waste it would be if I do not share this experience with you!

The Tenkiebox team first introduced me to the Bullrunner, Jaymie Pizarro, and we got into a quick chat. During that short span of time, I learned lot about the changes Otterbox brought to her life, both as a mother and as a runner.

Gadget freak

Jaymie referred to herself as a “gadget freak,” as she loves to keep up with the latest technological advancements going on every now and then. It is her nature to run after the things she wants because, well, she’s the Bullrunner. Before she learned about Otterbox, she constantly worried about her gadgets. She couldn’t leave them in the hands of her kids because things tended to slip out of their hands most of the time. Her on-the-go lifestyle outside the house left her almost no time to check on her phone and tablet. “I owed it to myself to protect my gadgets,” she recalled.

Honored to promote Otterbox

She admitted to me that before Tenkiebox approached her to be a brand ambassador, their product did not sound that familiar to her. In fact, she had to do a little research about Otterbox over the Internet. The positive reviews she read and the drop tests she saw convinced her that it was a reliable brand. She trusted the Otterbox so much that she did not really have to sit down and talk about her accepting the offer of being a brand ambassador. “I am honored to promote a brand that compliments my lifestyle, and be with other active people (the four ambassadors) in this campaign,” said Jaymie.

Otterbox changes lives

Now that her gadgets are protected with Otterbox, Jaymie no longer worries about them anymore. “I dump [my phone]inside my bag with a lot of other things, and it’s still protected. Ever since I got Otterbox, when I drop my phone or when my kids play with my tablet, I don’t really care that much. It’s really for active people; for people literally running around and don’t have time to be careful with their gadgets,” Jaymie expressed. “It changes lives. Now, I want to regularly share the importance of protecting the things you value the most.”

Right before we ended our conversation, I was able to ask Jaymie what her most memorable Otter-moment was. “Sacramento, California. It’s the 7th International Marathon there, and I brought my phone throughout the marathon.” With pure astonishment in her face, she added, “I can’t believe I did not even worry about the phone the entire time.”

With that last statement, she probably speaks for every person who’s ever tried Otterbox.
