Otterbox: To Preserve & Protect
Last year, Google released a study that revealed a couple of very interesting facts— 39 percent of people take their phones to the restroom and 19 percent of them accidentally drop their phones into the toilet—ruining their phones and losing important data.
Now think about that for a moment.
First, it shows how dependent we’ve become on mobile phones that we feel the need to bring them even when nature calls. Second, it also shows how clumsy and inept people can be in taking care of their precious gadgets, and third, if 19 percent accidentally drop their phones in the toilet, then the chances of accidental drops happening everywhere else is certainly even higher.
So take a look at that shiny new iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Note, or iPad that you’ve just bought, and ask yourself if you’re willing to risk even one accidental drop.
Tenkie Box, local distributor of OtterBox cases, however, is daring people to drop their OtterBox protected gadgets, (thankfully not in the toilet), with their ongoing Drop Test Mall Tour.
In an interview with The Manila Times, Jay Tengco, chief executive officer of Tenkie Box said the Drop Test tour is their way introducing OtterBox to gadget lovers.
“We plan to hold regular Drop Test tours in various malls all over the country so that people can experience first-hand why people are talking about Otter Box.”
So far, the tour has made two stops—the first was at the Rockwell Powerplant Mall, in Makati and most recently at the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City.
“During these Drop Tests we allow everyone to interact with the cases and let them experience the feel and materials of our cases and not just view them on the shelves. We also have demo phones which we allow them to drop to prove that our cases can indeed protect their gadgets.”
